Victims of a fashion fad: Bred to satisfy a celeb craze for 'handbag' dogs, their only hope is one courageous

To the people blaming people in Japan, China, etc. for these crimes, wake up! This happens all over the world. USA, UK, everywhere. People breed dogs in disgusting conditions all over the world, where the young are torn away from their mothers way too young and wind up in pet shops to be sold to uneducated consumers for large sums of money. Not everyone who breeds dogs is a bad person, but there are a lot of bad breeders out there. If you are going to buy a dog, research the breeder. Dogs sold in pet shops rarely come from good breeders, and the prices are a lot higher. Or adopt a dog from a shelter, dogs (and cats, etc.) are killed every day in shelters because there is no room and shelters don't want to embrace a 'no kill' model. Neuter/spay your pets, don't buy them as an accessory or as something to be dumped when it gets big and less cute.
