Witness Appeal After Woman Pulls Knife from Handbag

Police in Cheltenham are appealing for witnesses to an incident in Henrietta Street last night, Tuesday January 1. During the evening a woman consumed a number of alcoholic drinks at a restaurant at The Brewery in Cheltenham and then, at around 10:40pm, left without paying. She was followed to Henrietta Street by a member of staff, an 18-year-old man, who tried to speak to her. She then pulled a knife from her handbag and pointed it at the man before running away. The man was not injured in the incident. Officers investigating the incident are carrying out a number of inquiries to try and identify the woman but are also appealing for any witnesses to come forward. The woman was described as white, around 35-years-old and was wearing a black dress with a white throw over her shoulders and black tights. She had a piercing below her bottom lip.
