DIY Handbag with UV sensors #WearableWednesday
I live in Italy, in front of the Mediterranean Sea, and you know, we often have a problem … the sun is too strong! So I decided to create a handbag with a little trick … a UV sensor who alerts when too much UV radiation happens. The heart of the handbag is a Flora, connected with a UV Light Sensor and two Smart Neopixels. A common USB power pack will supply all the energy for hours… With some help and some tutorials I was able to find all the materials and assembly the project; the bag is completely handmade, partly with recycled transparent parts from plastic bottles, partly hand knitted. The handles are made from PVC pipes.I like the coupling of different materials. Every time I go around with my handbag someone will ask about … I’m really proud of it!
